Cool, a new Bookpage.  I had no idea that one of my favorite authors is Sri Lankan.

I'll read that later this week.  I'm reading a short piece by Andre Loos.  It's called "Dana is a thief".  Starts out

"A handcart drew up outside the Cafe Orient.  The owner of the cart was a man of about fifty; his son cannot have been older than thirteen.  On the cart stood a tattered couch, and under the couch lay five hampers full of empty wine bottles wrapped in rags to prevent breakages.  On the cafe wall someone had written in chalk: DANA IS A THIEF.  It was half-past four in the afternoon."
