It's just different now, a character in a post-apocalyptic book says to someone who's been away from scene for a while.  The description of what it's become forces the reader to ask, but am I?

Intellectually and diplomatically, the world got to that postmodern place where change(s) happened.  And both nations and individuals are forced to know self and fend for self.  As it was for the first vegans and alcoholics, there's "support".  But since there was so much schism there isn't a nice, neat putting of the iceberg back together.

The intellectualism about this is basically like talking about art.  Anything goes, but we may find ourselves talking to ourselves.  There may also be captive audience and they may cling to whatever gets called theory.  And, some of the personality cult is never not going to be that.

Small or large patch of ice for you?
